The drama series is based on the manga and anime of the same name, both created by Fujisawa Tohru. The story is a sequel of lesser known series Shounan Jun'ai-gumi (Shounan Love Gang) where Onizuka Eikichi's rogue high school days are depicted.

Sorimachi Takashi plays Onizuka Eikichi, a graduate of a third-rate University and the leader of a motorcycle gang, whose lifelong dream is to become a teacher. After being hired by a seemingly eccentric director, Onizuka begins his unconventional way of teaching a hopeless group of troublemakers. Although he meets much opposition from the students and teachers themselves, his passion for teaching, and more importantly, his students, eventually convinces everyone that Onizuka truly has the makings of a great teacher.

Eikichi Onizuka
Description: The main character. A biker gang leader who made the most unusual of career choices to become a teacher, and that's just because of a high-school student. Motivated by his dream of having a 16-years old wife by the time he's 40. Good at fighting and also a pervert. His stupidity is prevalent, but in the end, all his actions make sense, so far.....

Azusa Fuyutsuki
Description: A Japanese Literature teacher (she is an English teacher in drama version) who started teaching at the same time as Onizuka. A Waseda University graduate. Onizuka's possible love interest. IMHO, this character annoys me the most, and I personally feel, some of Onizuka problems are caused by her, especially in the newer part of the series. Impressed by Onizuka success, she tried to emulate him but usually failed. A major character.

Yoshito Kikuchi
escription: A computer genius, with IQ of 180.

Miyabi Aizawa
Description: The class monitor, and Onizuka main enemy. Something in the past make her hate all her teachers with passion, and the reason will be revealed very much later.

Kunio Murai
Description: A paranoid student, who love his mother Juria Murai (a 27-year old hottie) probably too much. Shy around girls, especially the one he admires, but he doesn't even sure about his own feelings.

Noboru Yoshikawa
Description: A pathetic boy who always been bullied by Anko Uehara (Miyabi Aizawa in drama version) and her gang, and possibly others too. Onizuka saved him when he tried to commit suicide.

Saeko Iijima
Description: Member of Aizawa's second trio group.

Chikako Shirai
Description: Another member of Miyabi Aizawa trio group.

Kouji Fujiyoushi
Description: A member of Nanako's gang.

Taadaki Kusano
Nothing much to say i guess. lol.

Tomoko Nomura
Always slow in everything she do, either in studies and sports. Don't have a lot of friends. In the end, she gained self-belief with Onizuka's help, and defeated Aizawa in a talent/beauty contest.
